Founded in 1919 in Thiers by Henri Wichard, the Wichard company initially specialized in the manufacture of safety forged parts for industrial markets. In the early 70s, the company took a decisive turn by working with the great skippers of the day, such as Moitessier, Tabarly and Alain Colas, to develop its first deck hardware products. The company nevertheless retained a strong industrial activity.

50 years on, the Wichard brand has accompanied generations of sailors around the world. Wichard products are now favored by all the major shipyards, used by the most demanding sailors and sold on all 5 continents thanks to its international network of distributors.
