Smart Battery Sense
The Smart Battery Sense is a wireless battery voltage and temperature sensor for Victron MPPT Solar chargers.
With a voltage and temperature sensor, the batteries are charged better, the charging efficiency is improved and the service life of the battery is extended.
Thecharging of the battery is improved
By measuring the voltage directly at the connections of the battery bank, errors caused by voltage loss due to cable resistance are avoided. In this way, the correct charging voltage is ensured.
For lead batteries, the battery temperature data is used to adjust the charging voltages: cold batteries require a higher charging voltage, whereas hot batteries require a lower charging voltage. For Lithium batteries, the temperature data is used to stop charging if the Batteries are too cold: Charging Lithium batteries at temperatures around freezing or below will permanently damage the cells.
Nowiring
The connection between the Smart Battery Sense and one or more Solar charger(s) is wireless. A VE.Smart Network is used - a wireless technology based on the Bluetooth Smart function.
The transmitted data can be used simultaneously by one, two or more solar Chargers connected to the same 12 V, 24 V or 48 V battery bank. The Smart Network is set up using the VictronConnect app.
Orderly, simple - smart
Installation is simple, quick and tidy. Simple attach the two cable lugs of the device to the Battery connections and mount the Smart Battery Sense device directly on the battery with its self-adhesive strip.
