Hydraulic reservoir tank type - HYDRAULIC TANKS
The hydraulic installation on board a ship also includes a tank (expansion tank), which is used to store the hydraulic oil. This serves as a buffer for the hydraulic fluid and also offers the option of Cooling the oil if necessary. In addition, the cover of the hydraulic tank offers the possibility to mount all the control units required for the Control of the various devices. VETUS supplies this hydraulic tank ready for operation with all ordered control units fully assembled. Additional control units can be supplied separately if required. These can then be very easily mounted on the cover of the hydraulic tank and connected. The choice of tank depends on the required application.
Aluminum hydraulic tanks HT1010 and HT1028 contribute to the Cooling of the hydraulic fluid, the Cooling of the
Hydraulic fluid depends on the Temperature of the machine room, and other environmental factors such as
Air temperature. The cooling capacity of the hydraulic tank is therefore unpredictable and Vetus recommends installing seawater-cooled hydraulic fluid coolers in every system. If no Oil cooler is installed for cost reasons, the Temperature must be constantly monitored and a cooler may need to be retrofitted.
