PSS maintenance kit As with any rubber/silicone hose below the waterline, the PSS bellows must be checked regularly for wear, ageing or chemical deterioration. PSS recommends replacing the bellows every 6 years. When replacing the bellows, it is also recommended to replace the O-rings and set screws as well as the Hose clamps. All the necessary spare parts are included in the PSS Maintenance Kit. What is included in the maintenance kit Bellows - 1 piece Nitrile O-rings - 2 pieces Gage screws - 5 pieces Hose clamps - 4 pieces Tube thread lock - 1 piece Socket wrench - 1 piece Importantnotes: a.) Bellows may need to be inspected more frequently in an environment where unsealed Batteries release sulphuric acid. Sulfuric acid vapor will accelerate the deterioration of the rubber, as will an ozoner. b.) Use the locking screws only once. There are two locking screws in each of the two holes of the stainless steel rotor. One locking screw secures the rotor on the Shafts and the second secures the first locking screw. The locking screws are made with a pointed ring at the base. This ring presses into the Shafts and thus ensures a secure hold.
