Johnson Service-Kit The Vacuum valve is an inexpensive insurance against the ingress of water into the engine and the associated expensive repairs. The maximum ambient temperature should not exceed 60°C. The valve opens at a pressure corresponding to a water column of 3-5 cm. The materials used are seawater resistant and suitable for use with Fresh water and glycol in typical concentrations.
