More and more Boats now have a WiFi router or use devices such as our 4G Connect for their internet connection. For optimal data transfer speed, a wired Ethernet connection still offers the fastest and most reliable network connection on board a Boats. For streaming TV, VOIP, security cameras and other data-intensive services, we always recommend using a wired connection. Our NS5 network switch offers a Simple and robust solution for increasing the number of wired Ethernet connections on the boat. Designed to operate from a 9V to 36V DC power supply, the NS5 features a dual redundant power supply, DIN rail mounting and five RJ45 10/100 Ethernet connections, allowing you to reliably expand your Boats's Ethernet network.Installation couldn't be easier: Simple connect one of the NS5's RJ45 sockets to a LAN socket on our 4GConnect or 4GXtream routers using a standard network cable and wire the NS5 directly to the Boats 12 V or 24 V DC power supply. Our 4G router will continue to provide IP addresses for all devices connected to the NS5 (via DHCP) and you can immediately see the status of all Ethernet connections by the flashing yellow and green LEDs on each port of the NS5.
