Digital Yacht AIT5000 CLASS B

Digital Yacht has introduced a new range of Class B AIS transponders. Class B , a new Standard, uses SOTDMA format transmissions. These offer 5W of power (2.5x stronger than a normal Class B), a guaranteed time window for transmission in busy areas and faster update rates depending on vessel speed. It is ideal for ocean sailors who need the best possible performance and security for satellite tracking applications for fast powerboats and smaller, non-mandated commercial vessels. It continues to work with existing Class B and Class A systems. Smaller ships and Boats can benefit enormously from a 5W SOTDMA Class B transponder for Navigation. However, the regulations for installing an additional VHF antennas can be a deterrent. This is exactly where the AIT5000 Nucleus comes in. It not only has a fully equipped Class B AIS transponder, but is also equipped with an antenna splitter. This means that the existing VHF antenna can also be used to transmit and receive AIS data at the same time. NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 and USB interfaces and WLAN access provide connectivity for PC, Mac, tablets, iPads and smart phones, making the Nucleus literally the center of your on-board navigation system. The AIT5000 also acts as a multiplexer and transmits not only AIS data but also available NMEA data, which is transmitted wirelessly in combination with mobile devices.
