Digital Yacht 4G XTREAM SYSTEM
EAN: 703791696260
Description
is our latest, high-quality product for LTE Internet access (mobile communications). You receive it as a complete package with two external Antennas, mounting material and cabling. Alternative antenna mounts are optionally available.
WithMIMO technology and two external broadband LTE Antennas, it offers a fast connection with up to 300 MBs (depending on the network). It has an integrated dual-band WLAN router that supports multiple connections, two SIM card slots (with automatic failover if required) and integrated GPS (for IdD and tracking applications). There is also an NMEA 2000 interface for navigation and device data connectivity and wireless pairing. There is also a Bluetooth interface for future connectivity applications. It is therefore ideal for connecting to mobile devices so that you can use navigation and instrument data from the Boats on various apps.
Forexternal high-performance WLAN (for accessing hotspots on land), we recommend our WL510, which is connected to the WAN port. The 4GXtream can then act as a router for this connection and allow the user to switch from Wi-Fi to LTE.
Itis used alongside our existing 4G Connect Pro as a premium product and is ideal for use on large yachts, workboats, tugs and commercial vessels where a reliable and cost-effective internet connection is required on shore as well as in port.

FAQs
What about 5G?
5Gis currently under constant development. 5G is essentially about very fast communication with a short range. It is used in densely populated, urban areas with very fast downloads. Some of the bands allocated for this are in the frequency range of 3.4-3.6 GHz or even 24-52 GHz, i.e. ultra-high frequencies that have a very short range. This is not ideal for the maritime and coastal market, so 4G will continue to dominate there. Apart from that, 5G will be used for many 4G internet backhaul connections in the future, improving the traditional 4G LTE infrastructure. 4G LTE technology remains the best option for Internet access at sea. The 4GXtream can of course support additional internet sources via its WAN port.

Can I view my NMEA 2000 navigation data remotely?
4GXtreamhas an integrated NMEA 2000 interface that allows you to use NMEA 2000 data with apps on mobile devices (connected to the system). GPS, AIS and instrument data is streamed from the boat system via the Wi-Fi network. The simplest way to view this data remotely would be to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network), which effectively creates a data 'tunnel' from one network (e.g. on land) to another (e.g. on the Boats). The 4G Xtream supports these VPNs. The technology is proven, but requires specialized knowledge of third-party IP networks to set up. 4GXtream also supports MQTT for IdD applications and Tier-0 for remote access and we are still waiting for third party applications to be developed for these platforms. 4GXtream also supports the retrieval of GPS data and alerts via text message through its internal GPS function.
 ,
Where should the external Antennas be mounted? be mounted?
Wesupply the 4GXtream with two external Antennas. For optimal performance, you should mount them at least 50 cm apart. While a certain height is advantageous, you should also consider the cable runs. The standard cables (LMR200) have a length of 7 m and should not be extended. Typical mounting locations would be the first set of spreaders on a sailboat, the radar arch or the stern mast or Solar panel platform. Optional 10m and 20m units are available which use LMR400 special coax for minimal loss.
 ,
Can I use the internal WLAN network to connect to a WLAN on land?
Yes, that is possible. A Wi-Fi network can be used to access a hotspot on land (2.4 GHz) so that the 5 GHz network is bridged to allow local access. However, this is not recommended or supported. We recommend using our WL510 connected to the WAN port if a long range Wi-Fi hotspot is required.
