4G Connect is a new 4G (LTE) solution for on-board Internet access. The 4G Connect is equipped with the latest MIMO technology and 2 internal Antennas for a fast connection and optimum reception range. A fully equipped WLAN router is built in so that several users can use the Internet connection at the same time. Wired WLAN devices or satellite modems can also be networked via LAN and WAN. The Antennas built into the standard model are almost always sufficient for GRP Boats and achieve good reception performance in harbor areas. For boats with carbon, Wood or metal hulls and for Boats that want maximum reception performance, we recommend the 4G Connect Pro model with separate Antennas (see next page). 4G Connect is simlock-free, so users have a free choice of provider. For users in Europe, however, we recommend a Vodafone SIM, as these provide excellent reception performance in the marine sector. Control is child's play - simply switch on and use your device to search for the password-protected WLAN hotspot that the 4G Connect has set up and you're online. The 4G can be connected to Digital Yacht's high-performance WLAN antenna via the WAN interface. You then have the choice between WLAN hotspot and 4G. iKommunicate can be networked with the device via LAN so that the NMEA boat data can be made available via the wireless network and used with navigation programs and apps.
