PSS seal PRO 50 mm Shafts, 2 3/4' Stern tubes

PSS PRO shaft seal For shaft diameters from 1-1/4' to 3-3/4' (32mm to 95mm) The PSS PRO shaft seal is a mechanical seal using proven Stainless steel and carbon seal components. Supplemented by: - Amplifier silicone bellows - Outer rings in sizes +2-1/4' and optionally in all smaller sizes, - A secondary shaft retaining ring - 316 Stainless steel Hose clamps (rolled edges & unperforated) - An optional Nitronic 50 rotor upgrade (for highly corrosive environments). Designed specifically for applications that require increased durability and resistance to harsh, corrosive, high pressure and other demanding environments. The PSS PRO shaft seal is a special mechanical seal that is suitable for a wide range of applications and offers unsurpassed performance. As with PSS Type A & B seals, the PRO shaft seal is a mechanical seal. The seal face is created between the faces of the rotating stainless steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The stationary carbon flange is attached to a heavy duty silicone bellows which is secured to the Stern tubes (shaft log) of the vessel with 316SS Hose clamps. The Stainless steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange and is used to compress the bellows, the rotor is then secured to the shaft with set screws and the shaft retaining ring is fitted. This compression (preload) maintains constant contact between the two mating surfaces of the stainless steel rotor and the carbon flange so that the PSS can compensate for the variable axial movement caused by the propeller thrust. The carbon flange is overbored to the Shafts diameter so that it can 'float' around the shaft, compensating for most misalignment and vibration of the drive line. The Stainless steel rotor is sealed to the Shafts by two O-rings set into the bore of the rotor. These O-rings rotate with the Stainless steel shaft and rotor and are therefore not subject to wear during operation. Temperature limits: -13°F to 425°F (-25°C to 220°C) Pressure limits: 2.75 BAR (40 PSI) Shaft speed limits: 10,000 rpm.
